The New Aegex IoT Platform for Hazardous Locations With the Aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablet, Aegex Technologies is connecting people in hazardous locations around the world to the Cloud for real-time communications and data. Now, we are launching the world’s first Internet of Things Platform for Hazardous Locations. What is the Aegex IoT Platform for Hazardous Locations? The platform is comprised of multiple interconnected components – hardware, software and environment - that collectively yield essential information for efficiently and safely managing large-scale industrial operations with explosive atmospheres. All of these elements working together form a comprehensive platform for understanding and managing Internet of Things and Internet of Everything operations in vast, “meta-scale” hazardous industrial locations. HazLoc facilities, such as refineries, chemical plants, pharmaceutical plants, and others with potentially explosive atmospheres, permit only intrinsically safe devices and equipment that cannot ignite a spark and that require a unique approach to data capture and management. Intrinsically safe Aegex IoT sensors can collect and transmit data in hazardous areas, allowing Aegex tablet users to respond to onsite issues. They can also access cloud-based analytics, computing, database, IoT, mobile, networking, storage and web services with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform on the Aegex tablet. The Aegex IoT Platform provides a machine learning system for analyzing and utilizing big data in vast areas, under changing environmental conditions, with specific electronics certifications, and unique situations presented by hazardous locations, in order to improve productivity and safety.
