Certifications

Aegex’s industrial mobile devices are designed to meet the highest international safety standards. They are tested and certified as intrinsically safe for Division 1 and Zone 1 hazardous areas. To obtain all of these certifications in a single design requires our patent-pending technologies and testing.

Above all, Aegex is committed to safety. Even though our products have already been proven and certified as safe, we maintain a commitment to continual improvement. To achieve this, we conduct a range of environmental and electrical tests to determine if product safety can be improved. The learnings from these efforts can be applied to new products on our development roadmap. Additionally, we continue to seek partners with components or technologies that can work with us to further empower workforces in hazardous areas.

Description of Intrinsic Safety Standards

CLASS:

Presence of Hazardous Material

Where flammable gases or vapors are present in the air in quantities sufficient to produce explosive or ignitable mixtures.

Where high concentrations of potentially combustible dusts are present.

Where easily ignitable fibers or flyings are present

DIVISION:

Presence of Hazardous Material

Where ignitable concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, or liquids can exist all of the time or some of the time under normal operating conditions.

GROUP:

Presence of Hazardous Material

Acetylene

Hydrogen, fuel and combustible process gases containing more than 30% hydrogen by volume or gases of equivalent hazard such as butadiene, ethylene, oxide, propylene oxide and arolein.

Carbon monoxide, ether, hydrogen sulfide, morphline, cyclopropane, ethyl and ethylene or gases of equivalent hazard.

Gasoline, acetone, ammonia, benzene, butane, cyclopropane, ethanol, hexane, methanol, methan, vinyl chloride, natural gas, naphtha, propane or gases equivalent hazard.

Combustible Metal Dusts

Combustible Carbonaceous Dusts

Other Combustible Dusts

ZONE:

Presence of Hazardous Material

Where ignitable concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, or liquids are likely to exist under normal operating conditions.
