IBM Technical Support Services to Provide Worldwide Warranty Support for Aegex Technologies Mobile Devices

Partnership will Provide Global Customers with Rapid Repair and Replacement for the Aegex Hazardous Area Tablet

Atlanta, Ga., USA. (Nov. 7, 2017) – Aegex Technologies has announced that its hazardous area tablet warranties will be supported worldwide by IBM Technical Support Services (TSS). Under the new program, aegex10™ Intrinsically Safe Tablets can be replaced or repaired in as few as two days anywhere IBM TSS operates.

The aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablet is globally certified for use in the most hazardous industrial operations worldwide, including oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries with potentially explosive atmospheres. Aegex tablets are currently deployed in more than 30 countries, and Aegex provides expert technical support for those devices through its design and production center AegexLabs.

If Aegex cannot resolve an issue with an Aegex device in the field, the new IBM TSS warranty program enables the customer to return the faulty item via a local IBM TSS facility most convenient for them.

The warranty options are as follows:

  • Aegex Premium Warranty: Guarantees a response from Aegex technical support within 3 hours. If a replacement is needed, the closest IBM TSS center will collect the device and deliver a replacement device within 2 business days.*
  • Aegex Enhanced Warranty: Guarantees a response from Aegex technical support within 2 business days. If a replacement is needed, IBM TSS will courier a replacement device within 2 business days of receipt of the order.
  • Aegex Standard Warranty: Guarantees a response from Aegex technical support within 2 business days. If a replacement is needed, IBM TSS will ship a replacement device to the customer within 14 business days.

Custom service level agreements (SLAs) are also available at the time of purchase of Aegex products. These agreements may include other services provided by Aegex and IBM, including on-site service, maintenance, deployment customization, image management and financing options.

In 2016, Aegex announced its agreement with IBM Global Financing to provide 2-3 year leases on Aegex products in local currencies around the world. This program and the IBM TSS warranty service program make global deployment of Aegex devices simple and efficient, while guaranteeing the best quality service and support worldwide.
